Train the Trainer Committee Member
The term of office will start on 1 January 2026.

The European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC) is seeking to recruit one new Committee Member of the ESAIC Train the Trainer (TtT) Committee. The ESAIC recognises that the standard of teaching of Anaesthesiology is a vital element of ensuring that our patients receive high quality safe care. Although doctors receive a great deal of education, they are not often taught how to deliver education. To address this, need the ESAIC has developed a basic and intermediate TTT course (split into an online and a F2F segment) for Anaesthesiology Specialists and final year Anaesthesia Residents to improve their teaching skills.
The three-year mandate of the member of the Train the Trainer (TTT) Committee of the ESAIC becomes vacant on 1 January 2026.
Role
The new member will start on 1 January 2026.
The TTT member will work closely with the Train the Trainer Committee Chair, the other Committee members and the ESAIC Headquarters throughout the year to:
- Assist in the selection of Faculty of the TTT course and participate in TTT activities as a faculty member.
- Review and improve the educational material of the TTT course.
- Play an active role in the ESAIC Train the Trainer Committee.
- Attend the TTT Committee meetings at least twice a year; one meeting of the TTT Committee takes place face-to-face at the Euroanaesthesia Congress. Other TTT Committee meetings will take place as video- or teleconferences.
Requirements
Applications are encouraged from ESAIC members who meet the following criteria:
- Must be an ESAIC Active or Affiliate Member. Applicants must hold an up-to-date Active or Affiliate ESAIC membership at the time of their application
- Graduate of the Train the Trainer Course (previously known as Teach the Teacher Course),
- Experience as a Faculty of the TTTC for the Week 1 and Week 2 of the course (based on previous course structure), or of the new online basic TTT Course.
- Experience in teaching, training, researching, publishing & reviewing in Anaesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, Critical Emergency Medicine and Pain management,
- Contributions to ESAIC activities,
- National and international teaching experience.
Gender balance and representation from throughout Europe will be encouraged on all Committees. No more than two representatives working professionally in any one country (except for ex-officio or co-opted members with no voting rights), and no more than one representative from the same institution, can sit on any Committee/Subcommittee. In special circumstances, the Board of Directors could grant an exception to this rule.
Term of Office
The mandate is for three years officially starting on 1 January 2026, renewable twice for one year (maximum of 5 years).
