EA20 Newsletter: Thank you from the President of the ESAIC

esaic a word from the president 300x183 1

I would like to extend a very big THANK YOU to all of our attendees who were able to join us online this year for our virtual edition of Euroanaesthesia.

This year’s Euroanaesthesia proved to be an engaging and educational congress for our many attendees. With over 5,500 participants, 160 Scientific sessions, 353 Speakers from 43 countries, 770 abstracts, and 1054 tweets using the #EA20 hashtag this was a very successful congress!

We would also like to acknowledge and thank our leadership and faculty for contributing to the success of Euroanaesthesia. Knowing what a difficult and complex time we are currently in, we appreciate even more their commitment and involvement.

We had a very large and enriching scientific programme this year, developed by our scientific committee, overseen by our scientific committee chairs, the late Professor Andreas Hoeft and Professor Idit Matot.

A big thank you to all our speakers who made this year’s session line-up so engaging, and a special thanks to Prof Daniela Filipescu (Bucharest, Romania) who delivered this year’s timely and inspiring Sir Robert Macintosh Lecture “Safe and Diverse – celebrate our strengths!”

Euroanaesthesia continues to present an outstanding programme with the highest scientific content and up-to-date information. But now it was presented in a new and different format than we were previously used to. We appreciated everyone’s willingness to jump into a brand-new way of learning and working because in the end, we do it for our profession and we do it for our patients.

There were still plenty of opportunities to share knowledge and best practices and hear about the latest innovations in basic and clinical science, education and quality, and patient safety improvement. The best part about going virtual for Euroanaesthesia was that our attendees could join us at any time from any location, opening up our congress to an even larger global community.

Euroanaesthesia’s virtual exhibition and Industry symposiums provided us with an in-depth view of new projects, developments and innovations in the field of anaesthesia and intensive care. Attendees can visit our exhibition area at the virtual congress for the rest of the month of December and see what the future has in store for us.

Euroanaesthesia is more than just three days of science and information – it is a lifetime of knowledge that can now be accessed at any time.

Euroanaesthesia continues to offer a unique global forum for a free exchange of science and medical strategy by bringing together practising physicians, academics, scientists, and clinical researchers. Standing united and working together, we can create a better future.

Thank you again for joining us online this year and I look forward to seeing you next year in Munich, Germany 17-19 December 2021 for the next Euroanaesthesia!
