EU Projects
The ESAIC has been involved as a consortium member in EU funded projects since 2018. Being an active partner in these projects is an additional way for the ESAIC to drive research and innovation.
The ESAIC has the capacity and proven experience to contribute to EU projects in, amongst other areas, communication, project and data management, survey creation and dissemination and event coordination. By using its extensive network of anesthesiologists and intensive care physicians as well as the diverse range of in-house services, the ESAIC is a key partner in EU projects.
Current EU projects
Biomarker and AI-supported FX06 therapy to prevent the progression from mild and moderate to severe stages of COVID-19.
The ESAIC’s main role is in the IXION trial: a controlled, randomised phase II/III study in approximately 300 patients. The ESAIC A-CRO is responsible for project and site management and monitoring in 4 countries and all aspects of data management for all countries. The ESAIC also has a substantial role in communication and dissemination.
Enhancing ICU palliative care via telemedicine to reduce stays, cost-effective, interdisciplinary approach with patient decision aids.
The ESAIC will focus on communication and survey dissemination activities.
Intelligent Lung Support for Mechanically Ventilated Patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
As well as key communication tasks, the ESAIC created and piloted an online survey which was disseminated with all its members. The survey was promoted via different media channels over several months and the results provided for analysis.
Improving patient SAFEty in surgical care through STandardisation, harmonisation, and creation of learning health systems in Europe
The ESAIC’s role for communication and dissemination so far have included stakeholder mapping, coordinating podcasts and and planning for dissemination activities.
Past EU projects
Advance an innovative digital tool, a real-time, plug-and-play monitoring app, to an intelligent decision-support system for monitoring, prediction and treatment of COVID-19 patients in ICUs.
The ESAIC role included coordinating user guides and training manuals for the monitoring app, coordinating a final event and various other communication tasks.
Improving the care of patients suffering from acute or chronic pain.
The ESAIC was a key partner for Communication and Dissemination from 2018 to 2023 and promoted the project via multiple social media channels, ESAIC newsletters and at several Euroanaesthesia congresses.
