Euroanaesthesia is one of the world’s largest and most influential scientific congresses for anaesthesia professionals. Education Project Coordinator

The term of office will start on 23 April 2024.

The company

The European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC) is the largest professional community of anaesthesiologists in Europe. The organization strives to promote the professional role of the anaesthesiologist and intensivist, maintain the highest standards of practice and patient safety, and foster an exchange of information by providing educational tools, research support and networking opportunities to members, colleagues, and partners.

We are looking for an Education Coordinator, who will support the congress and educational activities of ESAIC and work in the Scientific and Education Department, reporting to the Education and Scientific Affairs Manager. The Scientific and Education Department coordinates the scientific activities of the ESAIC at congresses, all the education projects, training programmes and Patient Safety initiatives.

What will you do? Key responsibilities (but not limited to)

  • Collaboration with ESAIC’s committees to plan education initiatives (during or outside the congress), training programmes, and collaborative projects for educational purposes;
  • Coordinate educational programmes and projects (Masterclasses, Podcasts, Videocasts, Webinars, any other education and training-related initiatives) with efficient and effective implementation of assigned projects as per workplans, budgets, timeline and contractual obligations;
  • Ensure project activities are on track, including developing and implementing solutions as necessary;
  • Communication, including production of project descriptions, memos, updates and other media, to promote a wider understanding of ESAIC’s educational activities and projects;
  • Ensuring that the rules and policies of the organisation are followed properly;
  • Coordination of committees:
    • Organising and attending meetings, drafting agendas and reports. Following up on decisions and preparing the yearly budget and budget forecasts with the Chairperson’s help
    • Dealing with vacancies, membership updates and Conflicts of Interests declarations
    • Reporting to and liaising with the Scientific and Education Manager regarding key decisions related to the activities within the scope of this job descriptions keeping the Scientific and Education Manager informed of developments.

Must have skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in an educational or similar project management role
  • Strong project management skills including the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks to meet multiple competing deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • An understanding and proven experience in a formal and/or informal educational setting
  • Outstanding communication skills and excellent knowledge of oral and written English
  • Highly organised and enthusiastic team player, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiar with e-learning platforms and practices and online events in general
  • Able to deliver under pressure and to tight deadlines but always keeping a great attention to details
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office including Excel and comfortable with numerical and written data
  • Ability to use sound judgement, initiative, tact and diplomacy when handling challenging situations

Must have competencies

  • Customer centric: Able to see problems, opportunities and priorities from the customers perspective and uses this to adapt the approach. Establishes and maintains good relationships with all the stakeholders.
  • Personal leadership: Inspires and engages others with her/his behaviour, building effective relationships.
  • High performing: focused on what matters, works efficiently, makes decisions, breaks plans into tasks, turns plans into actions and ensures follow-up. Assumes responsibility for reaching objectives.
  • Team player: supports and collaborates with others, works effectively within the team, delivers on commitments. Looks proactively for resources and best practices which he/she shares with the team. Willing to support other teams.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with medical educational programme design, development, and delivery
  • Experience working closely with key opinion leaders in the scientific and/or medical sector
  • Experience with technical writing and presentations
