About the BCSAC
The Basic and Clinical Sciences Anaesthetic Course (BCSAC) is designed as a key educational tool for candidates preparing for the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (EDAIC). The course aims to strengthen participants’ understanding and knowledge across a wide range of basic and clinical sciences relevant to anaesthesiology.
The course is open to everyone, and no prerequisites are required.
Officially organised by the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC), the BCSAC is delivered by experienced speakers with extensive expertise in teaching and examination. Feedback from previous editions highlights the value of the course: over 90% of participants from the last three years were satisfied, and 97% would recommend it to a colleague.
Format and Dates
The BCSAC 2026 will be held fully online on 12–14 and 26–28 June 2026 on the ESAIC Academy.
All lectures will remain available on demand for three months after the live event, allowing participants to review the content at their own pace.
Accreditation
The Basic and Clinical Sciences Anaesthetic Course 2026 has been accredited with 31.5 European CME credits (ECMEC®s) by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®).
Attendance & CME Credits
Participants do not need to attend the course live to obtain CME credits. Lectures may be followed live, on demand, or as a combination of both.
The Certificate of Attendance and CME credits are awarded based on the number of lectures actually watched, regardless of the format, through an intelligent tracking system.
Assessment
Participants will also have the opportunity to complete a knowledge test before and after the course to assess their learning progress.
Registration
Each participant must register with a valid personal e‑mail address.
Registration is now open and will close on 27 May 2026.
