2024 ESAIC Grant Winners
Paolo Pelosi Grant 55€k (dedicated to ICU):
- Dr. Hendrik Booke (Muenster, Germany): Finding biomarkers for prediction of chronic kidney disease after major surgery – a prospective multicentre observational study (BIO-CKD)
Andreas Hoeft 55€k (dedicated to Anaesthesiology): As the standard of application was very high, the ESAIC Research Committee decided to split the Grant between two winners:
- Dr. Anne Beukers (Amsterdam, Netherlands): Organ protection during extracorporeal circulation by enhanced microcirculation through albumin
- Prof. Patrick Schoettker (Lausanne, Switzerland): PrediSuisse : Automatized assessment of difficult airway using three commercially available videolaryngoscopes with the help of facial recognition techniques and neural network
The BJA-ESAIC Grants 2024 winners
- Dr. Matthew Harmon (Rotterdam, Netherlands): FLuvoxamine for Ameliorating Systemic Hyperinflammation (FLASH study)
- Dr. Marjolein Haverman (Groningen, Netherlands): Postoperative telemonitoring at the surgical ward: the visual analogue pain score (VAS) as a vital parameter to individualise pain treatment and reduce alarm burden
The ESAIC Grants aim to promote anaesthesia and intensive care related research and to encourage researchers to extend the frontiers of their practice.
