ESAIC Council Elections
The term of office will start on 1 January 2026.
Deadline for applications is 31 August 2025.
Dear ESAIC Members,
Council Representatives of the countries listed below, as well as up to 2 Trainee Representatives, are to be elected. Should you be interested in becoming more involved within the Society and would like to participate, so please submit your candidacy.
1. Open Positions
1.1. National Council Representatives
Albania | Iceland | Montenegro | Serbia |
Armenia | Ireland | Rep. of Moldova | Turkey |
Georgia | Kazakhstan | Romania | United Kingdom |
Duties: § 26.2. Each National Council Representative shall
- represent the Active Members of his/her respective Eligible Country.
- be an Active Member working in the same Country he/she represents.
- be responsible for contact & regular transfer of information between
- ESAIC & the Active Members working professionally in the same Country, and
- the respective European National Society of Anaesthesiologists of that country.
1.2. Trainee Council Representatives
Two (2) Trainee Representatives are to be elected by all ESAIC European Trainees. ESAIC European Trainee Members are eligible to present themselves as candidate to the elections to represent the Trainees in the Council.
Duties: § 26.3. The Trainee Representatives shall represent the Trainee Members of all countries jointly and be responsible for contact and regular transfer of information between ESAIC & its Trainee Members.
§26.1. (d) If there are two (2) Trainee Representatives, they shall not work or train in the same country.
The Trainee Representatives shall work in close collaboration with the National Council Representatives, the NASC and the Trainees Committee.
2. Terms of office
This call for applications is for a mandate start on 01 Jan. 2026 for both the National Council Representatives and the Trainee Representatives.
2.1 Council Representatives
§ 26.4. […] The terms of office of the National Council Representatives is a three (3) years term, indefinitely renewable for consecutive two (2) years terms.
2.2 Trainee Representatives
§ 26.6. […] The terms of office of the Trainee Representatives is a three (3) years term, not renewable.
3. Conditions for a valid application & how to apply?
Should you be interested in becoming more involved within the Society and would like to participate, so please submit your candidacy to the corresponding position.
3.1 Council Representatives
ESAIC Active Members are eligible to present themselves as candidate to the elections to represent their working country in the Council.
- Make sure that you are a fully paid Active Member in 2025 & 2026. If you are not a member for 2026 yet, we invite you to renew your membership as soon as possible.
- Send an email to officialise your candidacy together with 2 support letters from ESAIC Active Members from your working country.
Optional: you can also add to your application a motivation letter addressed to the ESAIC members of your country (max. 1-page A4).
3.2 Trainee Representatives
ESAIC European Trainees are eligible to present themselves as candidate to the elections to represent the European Trainees in the Council.
- Make sure that you are a fully paid European Trainee Member in 2025 and 2026. If you are not a member for 2026 yet, we invite you to renew your membership as soon as possible.
- Send an email to officialise your candidacy with 2 support letters from ESAIC Trainee Members from your working country,
Optional: you can also add to your application a motivation letter addressed to the ESAIC European Trainee members (max. 1-page A4).
All documents (application with 2 support letters and motivation letter if applicable) must be sent to councilelections@esaic.org by 31 August 2025 23h59 CET at the latest. Note that they will be shared with the Active Members of your country (respectively with all European Trainee Members for the position of Trainee Representative).
