Nominations Committee Members

ESAIC is seeking to recruit two new members of the Nominations Committee (NC). The NC advises the Board of Directors about suitable candidates for the nomination of Chairs and Members of other committees. The NC consists of the President, the President-Elect and four nominated Active members.

Duties and tasks of the NC Members

The NC members review & assess the applications submitted by all candidates to the open positions (members & chairpersons) in ESAIC Committees in a blind fashion to ensure a fair & unbiased recruitment process throughout the year.

Qualifications

The applicant must:

• Have played an active leadership role in the society and have a significant experience of ESAIC Committee work,
• Be recognised for excellence in the field of anaesthesiology (including intensive Care) in one of its different aspects (perioperative medicine, critical care, pain, critical emergency medicine, etc.),
• Bring the proof of an academic track record,
• Have very good command of spoken and written English, and
• Act as a role model in terms of leadership and according to our Society’s core values and policy of Code of Conduct.

Eligibility

At the time of applications, candidates shall have

• An up-to-date active or affiliate ESAIC membership, and
• Been an active or affiliate member of ESAIC during at least 10 consecutive years.

For governance reasons, once appointed, NC members shall neither be Chairpersons of any ESAIC Committee(s) nor Members of the Board of Directors.

NC Members should be working professionally in different countries, hence applicants working professionally in Spain or Israel are not eligible.

Time commitment

The NC Members are expected to dedicate a significant amount of their time to fulfil the responsibilities of the role.

Term of Office

The mandate is a 2-year term of office, starting on 01 January 2026, renewable once.

Shortlisted applicants may be interviewed to select the successful candidate. Appointment will be made by the ESAIC Board of Directors, following a recommendation by the NC Chairperson.
