About VIVAC
Preparation for the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Part II
The Viva Course (VIVAC) is intended as one of the tools for preparing for the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Part II examination, making the candidate familiar with the examination system and techniques.
The programme includes lectures and a mock EDAIC Part II exam workshop led by experienced EDAIC Part II examiners. Feedback will be given on every candidate’s performance, and every candidate will have the opportunity to observe other candidates and several examiners from different European countries in English language only. To ensure the confidentiality of everyone’s performance and a constructive work environment, participants must sign a non-disclosure agreement at registration.
To optimise learning and interaction, the format of the Viva Course has been slightly revised. Participants will receive access to all lectures one week in advance, allowing time for self‑study and preparation.
The live course day will then focus on a Q&A session addressing key topics and questions, followed by a workshop designed to consolidate knowledge and exam‑oriented skills.
For optimal experience, attendees should prepare for the course as they would for an EDAIC Part II exam.

- Saturday 7 February – 100 seats available (Closed)
- Saturday 5 September – 80 seats available (Few seats left)
The VIVA Course February 2026 has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 5.5 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

VIVAC Registration Fees
- ESAIC Affiliate / Active Member*: 320€
- ESAIC Trainee Member / Allied Member / Active Member from reduced fee country*: 220€
- Non-Member (or Associate Member/ Individual Society Member): 460€
*ESAIC Membership must be valid at the time of registration.
Who can attend VIVAC?
ESAIC Members and non-Members can participate in the VIVAC.
The course is limited to 100 participants for the February session and 80 participants for the September session.
