About VIVAC
Preparation for the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Part II
The Viva Course (VIVAC) is designed to support candidates preparing for the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (EDAIC) Part II examination. It familiarises participants with the examination format, assessment criteria, and viva examination techniques.
The programme combines expert-led lectures with a practical mock EDAIC Part II examination led by experienced EDAIC examiners. Participants receive personalised feedback on their performance and benefit from observing fellow candidates and examiners from different European countries, all conducted in English.
To maintain a supportive learning environment and ensure the confidentiality of participants’ performances, all attendees are required to sign a non-disclosure agreement upon registration.
Enhanced learning format
To maximise learning and interaction, the Viva Course now follows a blended-learning approach.
Participants will receive access to all lecture recordings one week before the course, allowing them to review the theoretical content at their own pace and arrive well prepared.
The live course day on Saturday, 5 September 2026, will focus on interactive learning, including:
- A dedicated Q&A session with faculty to clarify key concepts and address participants’ questions.
- An intensive mock viva workshop led by experienced EDAIC Part II examiners.
- Individualised feedback and practical guidance to strengthen examination technique and build confidence.
For the best learning experience, participants are strongly encouraged to prepare for the course as they would for the EDAIC Part II examination.
There will be two Viva Courses in 2026 :
- Saturday 7 February – 100 seats available (Closed)
- Saturday 5 September – 80 seats available (Few seats left)
The VIVA Course September 2026 has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 5 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.
