BJA-ESAIC Grant
Call for BJA-ESAIC Grants 2026 is closed.
The BJA-ESAIC Grants are a collaborative initiative between the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC) and the British Journal of Anaesthesia Charity.
New this year – Sustainability Grant (€80,000)
The aim is to support research focused on developing more environmentally sustainable practices in anaesthesiology, intensive care, pain and perioperative medicine.
Early Career Grant- Two grants (€60,000)
The aim of these grants is to support early career researchers in conducting high-quality anaesthesia-related studies that can improve clinical practice and patient outcomes, and to foster research that advances sustainability in anaesthesia.
Call for short abstract applications: 15 September 2025
Deadline for short abstract applications: 30 October 2025
Deadline for full applications: 19 January 2026
Final results to applicants: April 2026
The submission process for short-abstract Grant applications and schedule
Grant applications can only be submitted online via the ESAIC submission form. Please refer to the eligibility criteria for more details. Abstracts submitted in hard copy or e-mail will not be accepted. All submitted grant applications will go through a peer-review process carried out by international reviewers from the BJA-ESAIC Steering Committee.
Please note that all applications must be written in English. Please write as simply as possible and avoid language mistakes. If English is not your first language, we recommend that you have your application reviewed by a native speaker before submission.
Please note that due to the high number of applications that are received, it is unfortunately not possible to provide individual feedback to applicants.
