Take Your Career to the Next Level: Become a FESAIC
Becoming a Fellow of the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (FESAIC™) is a prestigious honour awarded to healthcare professionals who have made a significant contribution to anaesthesiology and intensive care. It recognises doctors who demonstrate integrity, clinical excellence, and dedication to patient care.
The first Fellows were honoured by Professor Kai Zacharowski, then President of the ESAIC, who introduced the Fellowship programme. A photograph of these inaugural recipients is a reminder of the legacy and prestige associated with this recognition. As Professor Zacharowski explains, “To be a FESAIC indicates and proves an exceptional level of service to the Society and patients, from congress and research to education and advocacy, that distinguish FESAIC from their peers. The FESAIC title is now recognised throughout the anaesthesiology and intensive care community as a symbol of excellence.”
Applications are open to ESAIC members who have contributed through initiatives such as education, research, mentoring, quality and safety improvement, or leadership roles in hospitals, medical societies, or within ESAIC itself. All applications are carefully reviewed by ESAIC Headquarters and the FESAIC Review Board to ensure a rigorous and professional selection process.
Applications for the 2026 Fellowship are open until 31 March. To learn more about eligibility and the application process, visit ESAIC FESAIC.
Becoming a Fellow is not just a title; it is an opportunity to join a community shaping the future of anaesthesiology and intensive care.
