Congress Newsletter 2022

Thank you from the President of the ESAIC Prof. Edoardo De Robertis and the Scientific Chair Prof. Idit Matot

We would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to all our attendees who were able to join us in Euroanaesthesia 2022.

It was a real joy to be able to meet again and, after the last 2 years’ experience, we succeeded to come out stronger as a community.

This year’s Euroanaesthesia proved to be an engaging and educational congress. We had over 3,900 attendees, 108 participating societies and industry companies, 150 scientific sessions, 248 presentations and 18 learning tracks conducted by 374 speakers coming from 40 different countries.

The programme of Euroanaesthesia 2022 provided an excellent and comprehensive scientific programme consisting of refresher course lectures, symposia, and workshops, as well as the presentation and discussion of the latest research undertaken in Europe but also beyond European borders. This year’s congress took the promise to another level, and we can be proud about the work done by the scientific committee, the speakers and all those who contributed to building up this excellent event

A few highlights from this year’s programme for Euroanaesthesia 2022 were the outstanding Sir Robert Macintosh Lecture themed: Lessons from the frontline which was given by Surgeon Captain Dr Kate Prior, and the Prof. Ibsen Lecture themed: From pandemics to ESAIC which was given by Prof Kai Zacharowski.

New this year were the Serious Games in which participants were challenged to develop teamwork leadership, decision making skills, a novel and fun learning environment using an escape room format to animate problem based learning, which was organised in different time slots at the Exhibition Area. An interesting variety of posters was presented from our community this year and many interesting and engaging workshops took place.

We would like to acknowledge and thank our leadership and faculty for contributing to the success of Euroanaesthesia and all invited speakers who contributed. Knowing what a difficult and complex time we continue to face; we appreciate even more their commitment and involvement

Euroanaesthesia is truly an outstanding international platform to enhance knowledge, review innovative techniques, learn on our guidelines, and communicate, collaborate, and network with a large international audience. This year we came back as a stronger community, with renewed motivation.

Thank you again for joining and we look forward to meeting you in EA 2023, Glasgow, Scotland, 3 -5 June.
